The Detroit Pistons will be without Cade Cunningham and Ausar Thompson against the Brooklyn Nets.
Cunningham (left quad contusion) was downgraded to out on the team’s 2:30 p.m. injury report for their home game Saturday, March 7, against the Nets (6 p.m., FanDuel Sports Network Detroit). It will be his seventh absence this season and keep him out of the first half of a home-road back-to-back, as the Pistons face the Miami Heat on Sunday.
Cunningham, a two-time All-Star, averaged 38 minutes over the Pistons’ past five games.
Thompson (right ankle sprain) was listed out on Friday. The third-year defensive ace exited in the first quarter of Thursday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs after rolling his ankle during a drive to the rim and did not return.
Pistons big Jalen Duren also is on the injury report, listed as probable with lower back spasms.
The Pistons (45-16) will look to get back on track following consecutive road losses in Cleveland on Tuesday and San Antonio on Thursday. They own a four-game lead over Boston for first place in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets (15-47) have lost 10 in a row.
