Fourth of July is a time for fireworks, patriotism and time off for most federal and state, and many private sector workers.
Independence Day, July 4th, is listed as one of 11 federal U.S. holidays, according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management, and because it falls on a Friday this year, many Michiganders have a long weekend.
State offices, banks and some grocery stores in Michigan will be closed for the holiday.

Will post offices, Fedex be open on the Fourth of July?
Post offices will be closed for July 4, limiting mail delivery.
Additionally there will be no FedEx pickup or delivery service on July 4, and FedEx Freight and FedEx Logistics will be closed, according to the company website says.
Will banks, ATMs be open on the Fourth of July?
Banks will be closed, but bank ATMs and digital banking features will still be available.
You will still be able to check balances, deposit cash and get money out.
Deposits may not count toward your account until the next day.
Is Aldi open on July 4th?
Aldi stores will be open with limited hours on July 4.

Costco stores will be closed on July 4.
Is Sam’s Club open on July 4th?
