All-league football teams named by Huron League, TAAC

Jefferson and St. Mary Catholic Central both have landed seven players on the All-Huron League football team selected by league coaches.

Luke Beaudrie, Logan Godlewski, Caiden Pfeiffer, Drake Jones, Bret Gennoe, Grant Hakeos and Keegan Stefko of Jefferson were honored along with Chris Clarke, Brock Cousino, Max Flint, Brady Hines, Luke Linzell, Cole Reinhardt and Bret Stark of SMCC.

Also included on the first team were David Knezovich, Ben Scully and Evan Szalay of Flat Rock, Brandon Potter and Noah Herron of New Boston Huron, Wally Sisler of Airport and Jacob Offerman of Milan.

The second team included:

Jefferson: Trey Oldenburg, Noah Hintz, Tommy Fountain, Caleb Henry, Hunter Barton, Karson Petit, Memphis Gray.

SMCC: Joseph Aranaut-Price, Drew Ferreira, Grant Lewis, Michael Ritchie, Jimmy Rostash, Jack Starner, Trey Worrell.

Flat Rock: Blake Recor, David Riddle, Joel Scully.

Huron: Nathan Matsos, Garrett Wezner.

Airport: Chase Harvell.

Milan: Cam Dessellier.

Jake Brewer, Devan Early and Cayden Ethridge of Jefferson, Landon Barron, Brady Decatur, Jack Fox and Lucas Rafko of SMCC, Alex Beaudrie, Blaine Demyan, Jordan Godfrey and Addison Sturgill of Flat Rock, Landon Hall, Jamil Brown, Dayton Miller and Cash Moczdlowsky of Huron, Silas Satneck, Patrick Murphy, Dillon Byrd and Cash Nye of Airport and Alex Hamden, Owen Stripp, Logan Vaughn and Charlie Brown of Milan received honorable mention.

PREP FOOTBALL

Ruddy, DeBarr best in TAAC

OTTAWA LAKE – League champion Whiteford swept all the top honors for Toledo Area Athletic Association football.

Brek Ruddy was named Offensive Player of the Year, Mason DeBarr Defensive Player of the Year and Todd Thieken Coach of the Year.

Whiteford placed Rocco Pillarelli, Jake Scott, Gavin Peters and Nolan Walker on the all-league first team for offense and Shevy Alexander, Alex Trejo, Drew Ruddy and Gabe Spewick on defense.

Second teamers for the Bobcats were Brek Ruddy, Logan Riffle and Drew Ruddy.

Austin Taylor, Hayden Dusseau, and Hayden Dusseau made the second team for Summerfield along with Leroy Cuykendall of Erie Mason.

Honorable mention nods went to Maddix Wise, Lucas Neely, Aiden Cannon and Cam Davis of Erie Mason, Reece Kalb, Charles Baldridge, Allen Roof and Trent Miller of Summerfield and Brody Hillard, Caden Stewart, Antonio Nachtrab and Tre Eitniear of Whiteford.

PREP SWIMMING

Etues lead Erie Mason-Ida

ERIE – Addy and Alexis Etue each won two individual events and swam on a pair of winning relays to lead Erie Mason-Ida to a 115-64 victory over St. Mary Catholic Central Tuesday.

The teams celebrated Senior and Parents Night together.

Addy Etue won diving and the 50-yard freestyle while Alexis ruled the butterfly and 100.

Giuliana Nastale (breaststroke) and Chloe Arnold (500) also won individual events for the Eagles.

Genavieve Bylow took first in the individual medley and backstrone and SMCC teammate Kate Rutkowski touched first in the 200 freestyle.

PREP VOLLEYBALL

Carlson’s season ends

TRENTON – Gibraltar Carlson’s volleyball season came to a close Tuesday with a 25-23, 25-22, 25-15 loss to Woodhaven Tuesday.

Woodhaven advances to play Trenton in the semifinals of the district Trenton is hosting on Thursday, Nov. 6. The first game of the doubleheader that evening features New Boston Huron and Riverview.

Huron has four All-Huron

NEW BOSTON – Huron League champion New Boston Huron placed Ian Ankenbauer, Mason Jasinski, Jordan Stasak and Ian Petrick on the all-league team selected by coaches.

The first team also included Fred Brown and Braeden Lerette of Milan, Nolan Sanders and Nolan Ortega of Airport, Brady McBride of Flat Rock, Joseph Laginess of St. Mary Catholic Central and Sawyer Schaffer of Jefferson.

Earning second-team spots were Marton Krajcz, Maverick Bazzy and Ryan Biller of Huron, Declan Hicks and Keegan Bates of Milan, Skyyler Gonzalez and Jackson Riggs of Airport, Mac Mlotha and Andrew Marama of Flat Rock, Carson Welker and Jacob St. Pierre of SMCC and Jackson Vallie of Jefferson.

Ryan Marvaso, Matthew Hussey and Shayne Diegel of Huron, Wyatt Hurd and Dagan Reams of Milan, Hudson Moore and Austin Schaffner of Airport, Collin Dalton and Maddex Spicer of Flat Rock, Aaron Fowkes and Brennan Menzies of SMCC and Bradley Ganues of Jefferson received honorable menton.

ADULT SOCCER

Pippin scores six

MONROE – Josh Pippin scored six goals to lead Your Mom to an 8-5 win over Atletico on opening night of Fall Session 2 in the Monroe Adult Coed Indoor Soccer League at LevelUp Training Sunday.

Jaden Vega and Luis Castrillon both scored two goals apiece for Atletico.
