Michigan football fans of the Detroit Lions will be very happy. MSU fans of the Leos? Less so — maybe.
Upon coming back from a devastating season-ending injury just weeks into the 2024 NFL season, former Wolverines star Aidan Hutchinson has been on a tear in 2025. And he’s being rewarded handsomely for it.
The former No. 2 pick in the NFL draft following the 2021 season, Hutchinson inked a four-year contract to remain with the Lions on Wednesday, ensuring that the star edge rusher will remain in Motown for all of his glory years. The deal is worth $180 million.
Thus far this year, Hutchinson is ranked seventh in the NFL in sacks with six. Hutchinson is the only player int he NFL to have two-plus forced fumbles and five or more sacks.
