FARMINGTON HILLS – Police are seeking the public’s help in finding the driver of a white sedan that they say was the second vehicle to strike a pedestrian.
The pedestrian was initially struck by an SUV at about 9:25 p.m. Friday, April 10, while crossing Eight Mile Road, west of Middlebelt Road and near Sunnydale Street.
The SUV driver, who had been westbound, immediately stopped, called 911 and remained on scene. The pedestrian was transported to Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital by Livonia Fire Department medics and remains in critical condition.
Police said surveillance video from multiple businesses that captured the crash showed a second vehicle, described as a white sedan with a black front bumper, traveling eastbound on Eight Mile Road.
“This vehicle appeared to strike the pedestrian, who was already lying in the roadway,” Farmington Hills police said in a release. “The driver of this vehicle did not remain at the scene.”
The Farmington Hills Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the white sedan and its driver. Anyone with information about the vehicle is asked to contact the Farmington Hills Police Department at 248-871-2610.
