Inkster police officers were called at about 4:50 a.m. to a home in the 26000 block of Penn Street for a report of a man with a gunshot wound seeking help, according to authorities. The home is located near Beech Daly Road between Michigan Avenue and Annapolis Street.

They said first responders arrived and began rendering aid until medics took the victim, a 17-year-old, to a hospital. Hospital staff pronounced the teen deceased.
