Clinton Township authorities are investigating a residential fire that killed one person and injured another Wednesday, they said.
Crews were called at about 8:35 a.m. Wednesday to a condominium on Suttons Bay Drive near Gratiot Avenue and Hall Road for a report of smoke and a fire, according to officials.
Firefighters arrived within six minutes and brought the fire under control, they said.
Officials said they searched the home and found a deceased person and transported another person to a hospital with injuries.
“Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones affected by this tragedy,” Paul Gieleghem, Clinton Township’s supervisor, said in a statement. “We are keeping everyone impacted by this incident in our thoughts, particularly the individual who is receiving care. We are grateful to our first responders who acted quickly to respond to this incident.”
