Free KN95 Masks Available at Health Department and Library Branch Locations As Michigan Air Quality Continues to be Impacted

By The St. Clair County Health Department

As wildfire smoke from Canada continues to impact air quality throughout Michigan, individuals in need of KN95 masks have the following options. Free masks can be picked up during regular business hours at the St. Clair County Health Department, located at 3415 28th Street in Port Huron and all St. Clair County Library System branch locations while supplies last.

Liz King, St. Clair County Health Department Health Officer-Director explained, “When air quality fluctuates between unhealthy and very unhealthy levels, it’s important to protect yourself, especially sensitive groups such as those with lung and heart conditions, asthma, COPD, children, pregnant women and older adults over age 65.” King continued, “During unhealthy levels helpful actions include; staying indoors as much as possible, reducing strenuous activities and keeping outdoor activities short. For those who have to be outside recommendations include taking more breaks and consider wearing a N95 or KN95 mask.”

Stay educated on air quality and how pollution can affect health. Additional resources include:
