Beware, you’re on TV: Cops nab vandals of bathroom at St. Clair Little League fields

By Jim Bloch

Be careful about what you’re stealing or destroying. You might turn up on closed circuit TV and under arrest.

That’s the fate of two male teenagers who vandalized a bathroom at the St. Clair Little League Fields around 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 30.

“On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at 2:49 p.m., officers from the St. Clair Police Department responded to a report of property damage at the Little League field located at 3020 Fred Moore Highway,” said Chief Don Ennis in a Facebook post June 2. “Upon arrival, officers discovered damage to the park’s bathroom facilities. Utilizing security camera footage from the Little League fields, officers identified two individuals of interest.”

St. Clair Little League uses MDK Alarm Systems to monitor the park. The footage showed two masked people walking through the park and approaching one of the restrooms.

The damage to the bathroom was extensive enough that league officials shuttered the facility until repairs can be made.

On Tuesday, the Little League shared photos of the suspects and the damage they caused on Facebook.

“The community responded promptly, providing the names of those involved within 60 minutes,” said Ennis. “St. Clair officers acted quickly on these leads and obtained confessions from both juvenile males responsible for the incident. The St. Clair Little League is currently seeking estimates for the damages. The board will determine whether to pursue criminal charges or seek restitution.”

This is the second incident of vandalism in two local parks – Klecha Park was the other — that police have been able to solve thanks to CCTV footage.

“The recent installation of cameras in our parks has proven instrumental in investigating and resolving crimes affecting public property,” said Ennis.

“A big thank you to the community for all (your) help to solve the case very quickly,” said the league in a subsequent post. “The support from all of you didn’t go unnoticed! This is a great league with many people who are willing to step up when help is needed.”
