Wall St muted as investors asses inflation data, Mideast peace prospects

May 28 (Reuters) – Wall Street’s main indexes opened flat on Thursday as investors processed key inflation data, while intensifying tensions between the U.S. and Iran kept optimism surrounding a peace deal in check.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 16.7 points, or 0.03%, at the open to 50,660.98. The S&P 500 fell 0.5 points, or 0.01%, at the open to 7,519.82​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 11.8 points, or 0.04%, to 26,686.53 at the opening bell.
