S&P 500, Dow open near record highs after mixed earnings, inflation data  

Jan 13 (Reuters) – The S&P 500 and the Dow opened near record highs on Tuesday after a largely in-line inflation report sustained expectations of rate cuts this year, while investors weighed mixed quarterly results from JPMorgan and Delta Air Lines.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 26.8 points, or 0.05%, at the open to 49616.95. The S&P 500 fell 0.1 points, or 0.00%, to 6977.41​, while the Nasdaq Composite rose 1.2 points, or 0.01%, to 23735.122.
