July 14 (Reuters) – The United States’ auto safety regulator said on Tuesday it received a request to open a probe into 806,963 Honda minivans over concerns related to their air bags.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the petition was related to inadvertent deployment of air bags while the vehicle was in motion.
The complaint covers the Japanese automaker’s popular Odyssey models from model years 2011 to 2017.
Honda’s North America unit, American Honda, told Reuters it was aware of the probe request and “is committed to the safety of our customers.”
“Honda respects this process and will await the agency’s findings before making any additional comment.”
