EU court upholds Google's $854,250 Italian fine over gambling advertising

BRUSSELS, July 16 (Reuters) – Europe’s top court on Thursday sided with Italy’s communication authority which fined Alphabet unit Google €750,000 ($854,250) four years ago over gambling advertising on its YouTube video platform.

“Google may be held liable for the YouTube videos of a content creator with whom it has a commercial partnership,” the Luxembourg-based Court of Justice of the European Union said.
