There’s not much drama at the top of the leaderboard heading into the final round of the 2026 BMW Championship. U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark pulled away from the field in Round 3, and his 17-under score through 54 holes gives him a five-stroke lead over Rory McIlroy and Patrick Cantlay.
But Cantlay is playing for a lot more than just a win. He entered the second leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs at No. 43 in the standings when only the top 30 will earn a spot in next week’s Tour Championship. His strong play has him all the way up to No. 22.
Gary Woodland (tied for fourth at 11 under with Chris Gotterup) is in a similar situation, and Sungjae Im (seventh at 9 under) would snag the coveted 30th and final berth if the tournament ended Saturday. He’ll need to keep it up lest Kurt Kitayama, Rickie Fowler or Bud Cauley makes a last-day push to take back their place at East Lake.

Round 4: Sunday, Aug. 23
Round 4 of the 2026 BMW Championship will broadcast nationally on Golf Channel at noon before switching to CBS at 2 p.m. Featured group and hole streaming from PGA Tour Live is available on the ESPN app (with a subscription to the Select plan) starting at 9:15 a.m.
