The Army sprint football team will host four of its eight regular-season games at West Point’s Shea Stadium.
Army’s “lightweight” football team has 17 consecutive winning seasons.
The Black Knights open with a Sept. 5 exhibition at Bellarmine, in Louisville, Kentucky. The home opener is Sept. 18 when Caldwell visits. Army hits the road for a Sept. 25 game at Navy and Oct. 2 contest at Pennsylvania.
Mansfield visits for an Oct. 9 game before the Black Knights hit the road for an Oct. 23 game against nearby Saint Thomas Aquinas in Rockland County and Oct. 31 contest against D’Youville in Buffalo — the Saints just created their program.
The regular season concludes with a pair of home games: Nov. 6 against Cornell (Army has won the last 14 meetings) and Nov. 13 against Chestnut Hill College.
Last year, Army won its first seven games: Chestnut Hill (27-21); Molloy (49-0); Penn (38-0); Cornell (49-9); Caldwell (31-7); Saint Thomas Aquinas (56-0); and, Mansfield (21-14). Navy spoiled the perfect season with a 20-17 overtime win at West Point.
