As the Houston Texans continue to mourn the loss of co-founder and senior chair Janice McNair’s passing, other teams have sent their condolences.
McNair, who, alongside her husband, Bob, brought football back to Houston, died on Tuesday afternoon. She was 89. Janice had taken over as the Texans’ principal owner after Bob died in 2018 and remained the top shareholder until her son, Cal, moved into that role in 2024.
Several teams, including the Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sent their thoughts to the McNair family and released statements on behalf of parting of the Texans’ First Lady.
Here were several of the repsonses online.
The Texans open the 2026 regular season on Sept. 13 at Reliant Stadium against the Buffalo Bills.
