The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is set. Last night, Jordan Walker stunned the Philly crowd by winning the Home Run Derby over hometown favorite Kyle Schwarber on his final swings of the night. The MLB Draft wrapped up over the weekend.
The Guardians sent three players to the 2026 All-Star Game, including two rookies, as closer Cade Smith, second baseman Travis Bazzana and starting pitcher Parker Messick all earned their first selections.

Guardians rookie second baseman Travis Bazzana grounded into a fielder’s choice in the top of the ninth inning. He struck out earlier in the game.

Miguel Vargas crushes home run; MLB All-Star Game score update
The 2026 All-Star Game, dominated by pitching thus far, has its first extra-base hit, and it was a monster home run off the bat of Miguel Vargas, who absolutely launched a solo shot off Justin Wrobleski.
It’s 4-0 AL in the top of the eighth. The NL has just one hit tonight.
Travis Bazzana enters MLB All-Star Game
Guardians rookie Travis Bazzana took his first MLB All-Star Game at-bat in the sixth inning. He was eventually struck out by Dodgers pitcher Justin Wrobleski.
Cade Smith strikes out Bryce Harper in MLB All-Star Game
Guardians closer Cade Smith worked the sixth inning of the All-Star Game, striking out two and retiring all three hitters he faced.
Smith also struck out Phillies star Bryce Harper while Harper was mic’d up. As Harper walked back to the dugout he could be heard saying “That’s disgusting.”
Cleveland pitchers have sat down all six hitters they’ve faced tonight, with three via strikeout.
Jackson High School’s Dillon Dingler bats in All-Star Game
Jackson High school grad Dillon Dingler, an All-Star with the Tigers, checked into the game at catcher and was then struck out by Nationals lefty Foster Griffin.
It remains 3-0 AL.
MLB holds America the Beautiful moment at All-Star Game
Just before the fifth inning, MLB held a moment that included a video of Ray Charles singing America the Beautiful, and a bunch of kids riding bikes onto the field with bats and gloves. The kids went to different players on the field and shared a really cool moment in a nod to The Sandlot.
That was really, really well done by MLB as a very cool baseball experience.
Junior Caminero hit by pitch from Riley O’Brien in All-Star Game
The Tampa Bay Rays aren’t gonna be happy about this one.
In the top of the third, Cardinals reliever Riley O’Brien hit Junior Caminero with a pitch. It looked like it got Caminero on his left pinkie finger. He’s exiting the game. The Rays are gonna have to hope nothing is broken.
Guardians pitcher Parker Messick cruises through inning in All-Star Game
Guardians rookie all-star pitcher Parker Messick pitched a 1-2-3 second inning, retiring Max Muncy and Ozzie Albies and then striking out Brandon Marsh. Messick needed only 10 pitches to get through the inning.
That was a strong showing from the rookie.
It’s still 3-0 AL.
Dylan Cease strikes out the side in MLB All-Star Game
Blue Jays starter Dylan Cease struck out the side in the first inning, K’ing Kyle Schwarber, Juan Soto and CJ Abrams. Freddie Freeman drew a walk.
Cease also did it while being mic’d up with the broadcast booth.
MLB All-Star Game score as Cody Bellinger puts AL on top
The American League has jumped on hometown starting pitcher Cristopher Sanchez.
Sanchez, pitching in front of his home Phillies fans, opened the All-Star Game by striking out Mike Trout but then struggled to find the strike zone. The AL loaded the bases with two outs, which led to Cody Bellinger of the Yankees, who singled up the middle to put the AL up 2-0.
Bellinger’s Yankees teammate, Ben Rice, followed with a single up the middle of his own to make it 3-0.
