Florida State was able to pick up eight commitments in its 2027 class during the month of June. Now that July has arrived, they have several other top prospects they’re in contention for, and four-star defensive lineman Karlos May is at the top of the list.
May has set his commitment date for July 18. He’ll be choosing between the Ohio State Buckeyes, Georgia Bulldogs, Auburn Tigers, and FSU. At the moment, Ohio State is seen as the favorite, but one committed prospect at Florida State made his case for May to pick the Seminoles.
That player is four-star edge Anthony Cavallaro, who reaffirmed that his recruitment was shut down a few weeks ago. He posted an image of May’s commitment date on his Instagram story, and he campaigned for him to pick FSU.
“ay bro let’s get this thing done ,” Cavallaro wrote.
Florida State got involved in the recruitment of May last July when they made him an offer. He would take an unofficial visit for FSU’s game against the Miami Hurricanes last season, and he also took an unofficial visit in April.
When May kicked off his official visits for the summer, he started on May 29 at Florida State. He went to see Georgia, Auburn, and Ohio State the following three weekends to close out his visits.
It’s an uphill battle for the Seminoles to land May. However, it would also be a major step forward in recruiting for the program if they were able to snag him.
May is the nation’s No. 132 overall player and the No. 15 defensive lineman per the 247Sports composite rankings. He’s also the No. 5 prospect in the state of Alabama.
