Sarasota police investigate man's death near downtown

The Sarasota Police Department has confirmed the adult male victim’s next of kin has been notified.

According to police, officers responded to a call reporting a person lying on the ground bleeding. Officers performed CPR while waiting for EMS to arrive at the scene. The man then died on the way to Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

Sarasota Police say there are no suspects at this time, but remind the public that this is an isolated incident and believe there is no threat to the public at this time.

The police report that the case is still under investigation and ask anyone with information to call the Sarasota Police Department Criminal Investigation Division at 941-263-6067 or Sarasota Crime Stoppers at 941-366-TIPS (8477).

The Sarasota Police Department is investigating the death of an adult man after an incident just north of downtown Sarasota.

According to the department’s press release, the man’s death happened at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 7, near Central Avenue and 15th Street.

Sarasota Police said there were no other reported injuries and that they believe there is no threat to the public.

Police said the case remains under investigation and that more information will be released when it becomes available.
