Former Florida State forward Chauncey Wiggins will get an opportunity to continue his professional basketball journey after reportedly agreeing to a Summer League contract with the Boston Celtics, the Seminoles announced.
Wiggins, who spent the 2025-26 season with the Seminoles after transferring in from the Clemson Tigers, will look to impress NBA decision-makers during the NBA 2K27 Summer League in Las Vegas.
The 6-foot-10 wing entered the draft process as a developmental prospect whose combination of size, perimeter shooting and defensive versatility attracted interest from several NBA organizations. During his lone season at Florida State under first-year head coach Luke Loucks, Wiggins emerged as one of the Seminoles’ most consistent performers. He averaged 13.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game while showcasing the type of floor-spacing ability and positional versatility that have become increasingly valuable at the professional level.
The opportunity with the Celtics represents the next step in Wiggins’ pursuit of an NBA roster spot. Boston has historically utilized Summer League as an avenue to identify developmental talent, and strong performances in Las Vegas can often lead to training camp invitations, Exhibit 10 contracts or two-way deals.
For Florida State, Wiggins’ Summer League opportunity continues a productive offseason for the program’s professional pipeline. Just days after Lajae Jones was selected in the second round of the 2026 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors, another former Seminole will have the chance to showcase his abilities on an NBA stage.
