Florida mayor faces two challengers in contested Aug. 18 election

Incumbent Port St. Lucie Mayor Shannon Martin faces challengers Steven Giordano and Eric Strazzeri in her bid to be re-elected.

Port St. Lucie voters on Aug. 18 will select a mayor and council members for District 3, the most southwestern portion of the city, and District 1, which covers the northeastern and eastern portions of the city. If none of the candidates receive more than 50% plus one vote, the top two candidates will go to a run-off in the Nov. 3 General Election.
