The Oregon Ducks are most known for their electrifying offense, winning games through the air. Dante Moore is as good as it gets at the quarterback position in college football. He has a great set of versatile playmakers to help him exploit opposing defenses. Last season, the Ducks’ run game was underrated, and this season it hopes to be just as good, if not better. USC has a real challenge on its hands against Oregon’s offense.
In a recent article, Brad Crawford brought attention to the talent the Ducks will have at running back this season. Crawford highlights Dierre Flair as an X-Factor for this season. Here is what he had to say:
“Another ballcarrier with flair, Dierre Hill at Oregon is a natural space player — quick to the edge, decisive through lanes and dangerous once he hits the second level. In Oregon’s system, that skill set is amplified, especially on perimeter runs and designed outlets in the passing game. His value isn’t just in yardage, but in forcing defenses to widen, creating easier interior opportunities for others, and keeping the Ducks’ offense unpredictable.”
Last season, the Ducks had a running back committee as they had 3 rushers eclipse 600 rushing yards. Noah Whittington, the Ducks’ leading rusher, left for the draft, but the Ducks will still have a dangerous two-headed monster with Hill and Jordan Davidson. That tandem will give the Trojans’ great running back duo a run for their money. The Trojans defense will have to execute a perfect game plan to slow down both Ducks’ backs. Hill and Davidson will look to etche themselves as best running back duo in Big Ten in Week 5.
