Shutts & Bowen LLP has announced that Irma Qureshi has joined the firm’s West Palm Beach office as a partner in its real estate practice group. Qureshi is the firm’s third attorney hire for the West Palm Beach office in the first half of 2026, reflecting the office’s strategic growth amid increasing demand for sophisticated legal counsel in Palm Beach County’s evolving real estate market. Qureshi represents developers, investors, lenders, landlords and tenants in a broad range of complex commercial real estate transactions. Comiter Singer partner reappointed to Florida Bar committee
Comiter Singer recently announced that partner Christopher Weeg has been reappointed to serve on The Florida Bar’s Tax Certification Committee, effective July 1. The committee oversees the standards and review process for board certification in tax law, one of The Florida Bar’s highest levels of recognition for attorneys practicing in the specialty area. At Comiter Singer, Weeg advises individuals, families, and business owners on complex estate planning, tax planning, and wealth transfer strategies. Comiter Singer has grown to 25 attorneys with four South Florida offices in Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach, Stuart, and Boca Raton.
Place of Hope adds alumni to its board of directors
Place of Hope recently announded that Will Tiano has been appointed to the board of directors. Tiano is a former Place of Hope foster child who was brought to Place of Hope in 2008. He graduated from Southeastern University with his bachelor’s degree in social work in hopes of helping young people like himself.
Clinics Can Help adds two members to its board of directors
Clinics Can Help has announced the appointment of Donna Goldfarb and Greg Kissel to its board of directors, further strengthening the nonprofit’s leadership as it continues its mission of providing medical equipment and supplies to children and adults in need throughout South Florida and beyond. Goldfarb brings a deep passion for community service and philanthropy, along with years of experience supporting charitable initiatives focused on improving quality of life for underserved populations. Kissel joins the board with extensive business and leadership experience, offering strategic insight and a strong dedication to giving back to the community.
Sawgrass CPA Advisors hires client services/office manager at Wellington location
Sawgrass CPA Advisors has hired of Aundria Euceda as the firm’s new client services manager/office manager at their Wellington office. Euceda will support the firm’s day‑to‑day operations while strengthening the client experience through organization, communication, and a high standard of professionalism. She will work closely with clients and team members to ensure the office operates smoothly and that the firm’s commitments are met with consistency and excellence. Norton Museum of Art adds member to board at crucial time
The Norton Museum of Art’s board of trustees recently elected Jonathan Maurer as the newest member. Maurer joins the Norton at a pivotal moment in the museum’s history, as it looks ahead to the next phase of its master plan created by Foster + Partners. Maurer is the Co-CEO of OPAL Fuels Inc., a leading national producer and distributor of renewable biogas. He is responsible for the production of compressed natural gas and using it to fuel heavy duty trucks to displace fossil diesel. Maurer and his wife, Gretchen Shugart, reside in West Palm Beach, New York City, and Southport, Connecticut, and have two grown children.
Center for Child Counseling honored as FAU Employer of the Year
Florida Atlantic University honored Center for Child Counseling as Employer of the Year at its 2026 Northern Campuses Awards Ceremony. “This award honors the partnership we have established with the Center for Child Counseling and recognizes them for actively recruiting from FAU and for providing excellent learning opportunities for our students,” said Kelly Nielsen, assistant director of the Florida Atlantic Career Center. The Center’s internship program is an immersive clinical experience where bachelor’s and master’s level students learn evidence-based and best practices and put that knowledge into practice.
