Why analyst ranks Colts Tyler Warren among top fantasy football TEs

The Indianapolis Colts’ Tyler Warren was ranked among the top fantasy football tight end options entering the 2026 season.

Nathan Jahnke of Pro Football Focus recently ranked his top 40 fantasy football tight ends for the upcoming year in PPR leagues. Warren came in at No. 7 and was one of five tight ends in Jahnke’s second tier.

“If everything goes well, Warren will return to being an elite fantasy option at tight end,” Jahnke wrote. “He, Michael Pittman Jr. and Josh Downs competed for short targets last year, with Downs drawing 60, Pittman 56 and Warren 54. Pittman was traded, and Indianapolis hasn’t made a substantial addition. Chances are, Pittman’s targets will be widely distributed among Alec Pierce, Downs, Warren and whoever wins the third receiver spot.”

Warren finished his rookie season as one of the more productive tight ends in football, catching 76 passes for 817 yards with four touchdowns. He was named a Pro Bowler as well.

His versatility and ability as a pass catcher and route runner allows Shane Steichen to move him around and task him with different roles, which can help create advantageous matchups.

And while blocking doesn’t register points in fantasy football, Warren’s well-rounded skill set adds a level of unpredictability to the Colts’ offense.

As Warren detailed, an area of focus for him this offseason was better maintaining separation throughout his routes, which can help foster more explosive plays. The experience Warren gained over the last year can lead to a Year 2 jump as well.

Like Jahnke mentions, Warren should see more opportunities this season with Michael Pittman in Pittsburgh.
