The Detroit Red Wings have traded away a former fourth-round draft pick to get one back in this weekend’s draft.
Amadeus Lombardi, drafted at No. 113 in 2022, was shipped to the New Jersey Devils on Thursday, June 25, in exchange for the Devils’ fourth-round pick in this weekend’s draft at No. 108 overall. The first round is Friday night (7 p.m., ESPN) and Rounds 2-7 are Saturday (11 a.m.).
The Wings now have seven 2026 draft picks, but are without a first-rounder: The No. 15 overall pick is owned by the St. Louis Blues after the March 6 trade for Justin Faulk.
Earlier Thursday, the Wings signed another prospect, defenseman William Wallinder.
