Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen did not win a second-straight MVP Award in 2025 but was in the discussion for much of the season.
One key stat shows why he was.
After winning the MVP honor in 2024, Allen continued playing at a high level last season. It was a year many considered as one that Allen carried his team for most of it. Sharp Football’s breakdown of one analytic explains why.
Sharp Football broke down the numbers for the best quarterback play in the second half of games when the QB’s team was losing. The base statistic used was EPA (expected points added) per attempt.
Across the entire NFL, Allen was the fourth best in this category.
Allen trailed the Denver Broncos’ Bo Nix, the Green Back Packers’ Jordan Love and the eventual MVP winner, Los Angeles Rams QB Matthew Stafford at No. 1.
