Milwaukee fire crews were battling a fire at a building on Milwaukee’s south side in the morning hours of June 23.
Firefighters from the Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a call just before 7 a.m. at 725 W. Cleveland Ave., said Deputy Chief Travis Jones.
No one was found in the building, and no firefighters were injured. By 10 a.m., fire investigators were on scene working to determine the cause, Jones said.
Jones said he did not know what the building was used for. It appeared the brick building that caught fire was part of an industrial complex with several buildings in close proximity, each with a different use. It was adjacent to a storage facility, indoor Padel courts and a flooring business.
Jones said fire crews made sure the nearby businesses were cleared out as well.
