Our local community deserves safe, regulated access to diverse health care options. Right now, Ohio is one of the states that does not formally license naturopathic doctors (NDs). This lack of a regulatory framework leaves consumers unprotected and limits our access to accredited, integrative care right here at home.
Fortunately, Senate Bill 385 has been introduced to fix this by placing qualified practitioners under the regulatory oversight of the State Medical Board of Ohio. This bill ensures that practicing NDs meet rigorous four-year graduate medical education and national board standards, a move already formally supported in testimony by major networks like the Cleveland Clinic.
Grassroots momentum is building steadily, with an online petition on Change.org approaching 200 signatures from local citizens calling on the Senate Health Committee to advance this bill. If you believe in health care freedom of choice and consumer safety, I encourage you to look into SB 385, sign the community petition, and contact our local representatives to support its passage.
