The Jacksonville Jaguars recently signed long-snapper Ross Matiscik to a two-year contract extension. Over the Cap now has the details of this new deal.
The 2026 season was set to be the final year of Matiscik’s original contract, which would have made him a free agent in 2027.
However, the two-year extension keeps Matiscik in Jacksonville through the 2028 season, and the $3.8 million in new money added to the deal makes him the highest-paid long-snapper in the NFL.
According to OTC, Matiscik will earn a base salary of $1.215 million in 2026, and that will increase each season, maxing out at $1.390 million in 2028. His base salaries are guaranteed in 2026 and 2027, but not in 2028.
Matiscik also earned a $975,000 signing bonus that, for cap purposes, will be prorated over the three contract years. He can earn up to $150,000 over the life of the deal in per-game roster bonuses as well.
In 2027 and 2028, Matiscik earns $25,000 each year in workout bonuses for participating in offseason programs.
Ross Matiscik salary cap hits by year with Jaguars
Matiscik has been with the Jaguars since 2020, when he signed as a UDFA out of Baylor. Since 2023, he has made the Pro Bowl all three seasons and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2023 and 2025, along with being a second-team All-Pro in 2024.
