Who are the girls on the Messenger/Herald all-area softball team?

Clyde, Gibsonburg, Oak Harbor and Margaretta each won a conference championship for softball.

Each is well represented on the Messenger/Herald all-area team below.

Karder Haas, Oak Harbor

Haas batted .400, drove in 36 runs, scored 34 runs and added seven home runs. The senior shortstop matched former teammate and future Walsh University teammate Porter Gregory by driving in 126 runs in her career. She established a program record with 20 career triples. She was first-team all-league as the Rockets won the Northern Buckeye Conference.

Mya Stiefel, Clyde

The senior infielder scored 31 runs, drove in 29 runs and batted .468. She struck out five times in 77 at-bats. She was recognized outstanding performer as the Fliers finished first in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake Division.

Ava Amor, Gibsonburg

The sophomore infielder scored 21 runs and drove in 18 with a .518 average. She drove in the only run of the game in a victory over New Riegel as the Golden Bears won the SBC River Division crown. Amor, who was first-team all-league, was 5-1 with a 2.39 ERA in the circle.

Lexi Moon, Lakota

The senior shortstop scored 38 runs, stole 17 bases, struck out six times in 85 at-bats, with a .518 average. She was first-team in the SBC River Division.

Cassidy Lane, Margaretta

The senior struck out 177 and walked 42 in 110 innings. She was 14-3 with a 2.16 ERA. She drove in 49 runs, scored 40 runs, hit eight home runs and batted .505. She was outstanding performer as the Polar Bears won the SBC Bay Division.

Madison Myers, Clyde

The junior pitcher struck out 52 and walked only 12 in 110 innings. She was 12-4 with a 2.42 ERA. She was first-team in the SBC Lake Division.

Aliv Wauford, Gibsonburg

The sophomore pitcher struck out 82 and walked 20 in 67⅓ innings. She was 7-2 with a 2.29 ERA. She batted .474 and drove in 19 runs. She was first-team all-conference.

Kelsey Kaylor, Woodmore

The senior catcher drove in 30 runs, scored 37 runs, stole 16 bases and batted .494. She collected a single-season program-record nine triples. She was second-team in the SBC River Division.

Abbi Ward, Old Fort

The junior catcher drove in 37 runs, scored 35 runs and batted .467. She hit nine home runs and stole 17 bases. She was first-team in the SBC River Division.

Ariah Farrar, Clyde

The sophomore center fielder scored 37 runs, drove in 15 and added two home runs, with a .461 average. She was first-team all-conference.

Tatum Baumgartner, Oak Harbor

The senior outfielder drove in 32 runs, scored 29 and added six home runs, with a .455 average. She was first-team all-league.

Lucy Edwards, Margaretta

The sophomore infielder scored 43 runs, drove in 23 and batted .447. She hit three home runs and was responsible for the area’s standout season highlight with a two-run walk-off blast in the 10th inning for a district championship. She was first-team all-conference.

Morgan LaLonde, Oak Harbor

The junior pitcher struck out 204 and walked 37 in 176 innings. She was 23-5 with a 2.27 ERA. She batted .387, scored 38 runs and drove in 23 at the plate. She was first-team all-league.

Micaela Wiechman, Port Clinton

The freshman catcher drove in 27 runs and scored 16, with a .329 average. She was first-team in the SBC Bay Division.

Haylee Robinson, Oak Harbor

The senior catcher drove in 29 runs, scored 23 and hit three home runs, with a .455 average. She was first-team all-league.

Mallory Hay, Bellevue

The sophomore pitcher struck out 163 and walked 91 in 137⅓ innings. She drove in 30 runs and batted. 452. She was first-team in the SBC Lake Division.
