Reds Hall of Famers make Savannah Bananas appearances at GABP

Former Cincinnati Reds fan favorite Adam Dunn, a Reds Hall of Famer, made an appearance during the Savannah Bananas’ game June 20 against the Indianapolis Clowns at Great American Ball Park.

Former Reds pitcher Aaron Harang, a 2026 Reds Hall of Fame inductee who was Dunn’s Cincinnati teammate from 2003 to 2008, pitched for the Bananas.

It was the second game of a three-game series at GABP between the Bananas and Clowns. The Cincinnati Clowns were based at Crosley Field, the home of the Cincinnati Reds, during the 1943 season.

During the first game of the three-game series, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins entered the game as a pinch runner for the Bananas, and received a standing ovation and loud “Teeeeeee!” chant from the GABP crowd. When Higgins scored a run, he did teammate Dexter Lawrence’s signature “Sexy Dexy” dance.

In June 2025, Reds Hall of Famer Sean Casey tore his hamstring while running the bases during a Savannah Bananas game at GABP.

In June 2025, longtime Cincinnati Bengals starting quarterback Andy Dalton took part in a dodgeball contest at a Savannah Bananas game at Charlotte’s Bank of America Stadium.
