Tons of players turn their careers in the NFL into coaching opportunities. Success is always mixed, but some find their way to the top in some form or fashion. Former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Anthony Becht is enjoying success in the UFL and now has an award to back it all up.
Orlando Storm Head Coach Anthony Becht was named the 2026 Buddy Teevens UFL Coach of the Year earlier this week. The league announced the award for Becht following his first season as coach in Orlando in their inaugural season, where he went 8-2.
“I’m honored and grateful to receive this award,” said Becht. “Individual awards are always about the people around you. When you surround yourself with a great coaching staff and 50 players who fully buy into the process, you’re always rewarded tenfold on the backend. This award is a reflection of the commitment and work put in by everyone in our organization.”
Becht has coached in the UFL for several years and has a 30-10 record. He hopes that next season’s regular-season success can parlay into a playoff run to further his efforts to extend his coaching career.
