Michigan State hockey has learned it’s Big Ten fate with the release of the 2026-27 schedule on Thursday. Now, in addition to that, the Spartans have another piece of their nonconference schedule added to the docket.
The Spartans will be making a trip to Rochester, New York, where they will play against RIT. This will be a solo game on October 17, not a weekend series. The solo game would make sense, considering the Spartans are traveling to Texas for a game against North Dakota.
This game will also serve as a homecoming for assistant coach Jared DeMichiel, who was a star goaltender for RIT from 2006-2010.
The full nonconference slate is not yet known, but trips to Texas and New York are a part of the schedule.
