Meet the members of the Battle Creek Enquirer 2026 All-Area Baseball Team

They represent the best baseball players in the area.

The annual All-Area team is made up of players from the non-city schools in the 18-district coverage area of the Enquirer.

Blake Brown

Gull Lake

A junior outfielder/pitcher, Blake Brown was a first-year player who helped Gull Lake go 16-14-2 overall and 11-3-2 in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference. Brown hit .372 with seven doubles and six home runs, including 25 RBIs and 18 runs. On the mound, he had a 2.68 ERA with 49 strikeouts in 31 innings, earning all-conference honors.

Brock Butler

Homer

A senior who led Homer in every offensive category, Brock Butler finished up a standout career for a Trojan team that finished 13-18 overall. A first baseman/pitcher, Butler hit .388 with 33 runs, 26 RBI, 27 walks and 23 walks. On the mound, he had 68 strikeouts with a 3.10 ERA.

Nolan Chard

Union City

A sophomore who helped Union City to an impressive 22-11 record, advancing to the district final. Nolan Chard was 7-3-1 on the mound with 73 strikeouts in 52 innings with a 2.28 ERA. At the plate, Chard hit .408 with 42 hits with nine doubles with 34 RBIs and 23 runs, earning all-league honors.

Dayton Ennis

Coldwater

A junior standout and three-time all-conference pick, Dayton Ennis was an infielder and key pitcher as the Cardinals went 21-17 overall and won a district and regional title. Ennis had four saves and four wins from the mound. At the plate, he hit .454 with 15 doubles, four triples and 51 hits.

Joseph Fair

Bronson

Bronson’s best overall hitter, Joseph Fair was a key junior who played shortstop, third base and was a pitcher. Fair hit .447 with a .515 slugging percentage with 46 hits with 28 RBIs and 34 runs and 14 stolen bases. Helping Bronson to a 19-12 record in the regular season, Fair was 4-1 from the mound with a 2.39 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 38 innings, earning all-league honors.

Alex Krugh

Galesburg-Augusta

A team captain and three-year starter, Alex Krugh is a two-time all-conference pick and a return selection on the Enquirer all-area team as he helped G-A to a 13-12 season. Krugh was unbeaten as a pitcher at 8-0 with a 0.73 ERA and 107 strikeouts. At the plate, Krugh hit .515 with 33 RBIs with 28 runs.

Lincoln Fuller

Marshall

A returning member of the Enquirer all-area team, Lincoln Fuller had another big year for Marshall as a pitcher/shortstop and earned all-conference honors in the Interstate 8 Conference. Fuller hit .389 with a team-high 51 hits with 15 doubles and three runs, adding 23 RBIs for the Redhawks, who went 19-18.

Carson Liles

Union City

A junior who helped Union City to an impressive 22-11 record, advancing to the district final. Carson Liles was an outfielder/pitcher for the Chargers as he hit .437 at the plate with nine doubles and two home runs. Impressive on the bases, he finished with 22 stolen bases and 45 runs scored to earn all-conference honors.

Max Markham

Gull Lake

A senior third baseman, Max Markham helped Gull Lake go 16-14-2 overall and 11-3-2 in the Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference. Markham hit .476 with an impressive 1.40 OPS, including 16 doubles and nine home runs. He added 46 RBI and 32 runs, striking out only four times as he earned all-conference honors.

Jaden Spence

Marshall

Jaden Spence had a big year for Marshall as an outfielder and earned all-conference honors in the Interstate 8 Conference. Spence hit .387 with 43 hits with six doubles and two triples, adding 27 RBIs for the Redhawks, who went 19-18.

Colin Stealy

Marshall

Colin Stealy helped Marshall go 19-18 on the regular season and advance to the district finals. The third baseman/pitcher hit .350 with 42 hits, including 12 doubles and two triples with four home runs and 35 RBIs, earning all-conference honors.

Reid Stukey

Bronson

An impressive defensive-minded catcher, Reid Stukey had a big junior year as a team captain for a Bronson team that went 19-12 in the regular season. Stukey had a .987 fielding percentage. At the plate, she hit .370 with a .557 on-base percentage with 30 hits with 32 runs and 18 RBIs.

Owen Tappenden

Coldwater

A four-year starter and two-year all-conference pick, Owen Tappenden led Coldwater as a pitcher and at the plate as the Cardinals went 21-17 overall and won a district and regional title. Tappenden finished 6-1 from the mound with a 1,37 ERA with 108 strikeouts in 61 innings. As a first baseman/outfielder, Tappenden hit .515 with 18 home runs and 14 doubles with 55 hits and 51 RBIs. The school’s all-time leader in home runs and RBIs, he will play at Kellogg Community College next year.

Jeremiah West

Colon

A sophomore, who was all-league and all-district and helped Colon to its second straight winning season at 10-9, Jeremiah West was a key leader on a young team. West played shortstop, outfield and was pitcher and he led the team in home runs and RBI.

Dalton Williams

Colon

A senior three-sport star, who was a standout on the diamond as well and was all-league and all-district and helped Colon to its second straight winning season at 10-9, Dalton Williams was a key leader on a young team. Williams played outfield and was pitcher and hit .450.
