Is 'Love Island USA' on tonight? What to know after the recoupling

Attention islanders: the dreaded ‘Love Island USA’ mid-week break has arrived once again following a high-stakes episode.

Tuesday’s episode had both a recoupling and the second viewer vote of the season. This recoupling came only days after the first vote broke three couples apart and shook up the villa. Two of those three couples decided to go against America’s first vote and recouple with their original partners.

After the episode, the viewers were tasked with voting for their favorite couples, but we won’t get the results of that vote until either Thursday’s or Friday’s episode.

Here is everything you need to know about the second viewer vote and what we can expect when ‘Love Island USA’ picks back up on Thursday, June 18.

Will there be a new ‘Love Island USA’ episode tonight?

No, ‘Love Island USA’ episodes air daily except on Wednesdays, so there will not be a new episode tonight, June 17. The next episode will air tomorrow, Thursday, June 18.

What happened during Tuesday’s recoupling?

‘Love Island USA’ host Ariana Madix told the islanders during Tuesday’s episode that there would be another recoupling where all of the islanders would get the chance to express who they wanted to couple up with.

Ahead of the recoupling, all of the islanders were given paper and a pen to write a letter to the person they would like to recouple with and then place it in the mailbox with their name. If both parties in a couple sent a letter to each other, they would remain coupled up. If someone’s mailbox was empty, that meant their partner wanted to couple up with someone else, and they would become single.

The three couples that got broken up during this recoupling were:

The first four couples called on during the recoupling all decided to stay together. It was then Kenzie’s turn to open her mailbox, where she found two letters: one from Caleb and one from her former couple, Corbin.

Caleb then opened his mailbox to find it empty, leaving him single. Inside Corbin’s mailbox was a letter from Kenzie, meaning they were now a couple. That only left Melanie, Corbin’s former partner, Sincere and Sol standing next to their mailboxes.

Madix had Sincere open his mailbox first, where he found two letters, one from Sol and one from Melanie. In a tense and dramatic reveal, Sol opened her mailbox and found it empty, which meant she was now single, along with Caleb.

To no surprise, Sincere’s letter was in Melanie’s mailbox, making them an official couple once again.

Madix said that since Caleb and Sol were both single, they would now be put in a couple together.

What did viewers vote for after Tuesday’s episode?

At the end of the episode, the voting window opened, allowing viewers to vote for their favorite couple. It wasn’t clear whether the results of this vote would be revealed on Thursday or Friday, or what the results would mean for the islanders.

In previous seasons, when viewers got to vote for their favorite couple, the bottom couple- sometimes even the bottom three couples- would become vulnerable, and the fellow islanders would have to decide who gets dumped from the villa.

Could that be the case for these islanders? If so, which islander or couple will end up getting dumped from the villa?

Who are the new ‘Love Island USA’ Season 8 couples?

After Tuesday’s recoupling, the new couples are:
