The Varsity 845 boys baseball player of the week poll is online for June 8-14. Information was utilized on reports gathered by Varsity 845 and nominations. Coaches are encouraged to provide their game reports in order for athletes to be chosen; they may also nominate one player from their team by Sunday afternoon.
During the postseason, a school may receive multiple nominations.
Go to RecordOnline.com/sports/high-school and vote as often as you like until Sunday, June 21, at 6 p.m. The winners will be announced each week on the @Varsity845 account on X/Twitter.
The winners of the last two polls were Cornwall’s Charles Rourke, Monroe-Woodbury’s Joshua Konior, Marlboro’s Liam Correa and New Paltz’s Alex Papaelias.

Varsity 845 boys baseball player of the week (June 8-14)
(candidates are listed alphabetically)
Ian Arnett, Chester
He started a second-inning rally with a single and scored Chester’s second run in a 3-0 win over Medina in the state title game on June 13.
Cole Belcastro, Marlboro
He had a single in the Dukes’ 7-0 setback to Plainedge in a June 12 state semifinal.
Braeden Burke, Monroe-Woodbury
The Crusaders’ starter gave up three quick runs but then set down 13 of the next 15 Massapequa batters in a 5-3 state semifinal loss on June 15.
Sage Caesar, Cornwall
He held Kennedy to three runs over six innings as the Dragons held on for a 5-3 semifinal win on June 12.
Liam Correa, Marlboro
He struck out five batters over five innings as the Dukes fell to Plainedge 7-0 in a June 12 state semifinal. He also had a single.
Evan Erickson, Monroe-Woodbury
His seventh-inning RBI single made him the potential tying run aboard in the Crusaders’ 5-3 loss to Massapequa in the state semifinal on June 12.
Aidan Francisco, Chester
He was very efficient with his pitch count in the June 13 state final against Medina, holding the Mustangs hitless for the first 3.2 innings and holding them to four hits overall in a 3-0 championship win. He struck out 11 in all.
Brandon Jenkins, Chester
His leadoff triple in the fourth inning spearheaded a game-tying rally in a 5-3 win over Center Moriches in the state semi on June 12.
Jeremy Lai, Monroe-Woodbury
His first homer of the season prompted a rally from a 3-0 deficit as the Crusaders lost to Massapequa 5-3 in a state semifinal on June 12.
Mason Lont, Cornwall
He had a double and hustled his way to three runs as the Dragons beat Kennedy 5-3 in a state semifinal on June 12. He added a hit to spark a seventh-inning threat in a 4-0 loss to West Genesee in the state final on June 13.
Ryan Lugo, Monroe-Woodbury
He reached safely three times from the leadoff spot, stranded twice but scoring Monroe’s final run in a 5-3 loss to Massapequa in the state semifinals on June 12.
Baker Meyer, Marlboro
He had a single in the Dukes’ 7-0 setback to Plainedge in a June 12 state semifinal.
James Musco, Chester
A rally starter at the leadoff spot, he drew a walk and hustled to score a first-inning run – the eventual game winner – as the Hambletonians beat Medina 3-0 for the state title on June 13.
Richie Roohan, Cornwall
His sixth-inning triple led to him scoring the eventual winning run as the Dragons nipped Kennedy 5-3 in a state semifinal on June 12.
Charles Rourke, Cornwall
He retired all three batters he faced in a save situation as the Dragons topped Kennedy 5-3 in a state semifinal on June 12. With five early strikeouts, he kept West Genesee off the scoreboard for two-plus innings in a state final loss on June 13.
Nick Sharp, Chester
He had an RBI single in the second inning and turned a fifth-inning walk into Chester’s final run in a 3-0 win over Medina for the state title on June 13. As the starting pitcher in the semifinal vs. Center Moriches, he gave up two quick runs but then held the Red Devils scoreless for the rest of his five-inning winning start, a 5-2 decision on June 12. He added a two-run single in the fifth to put Chester up for good.
