Army football has gained 10 selections to the preseason American Conference all-star team, as selected by Phil Steele Magazine.
Last year, Army garnered 11 Steele preseason picks.
Rising senior center Brady Small and rising junior defensive lineman Jack Bousum are first-team choices. Small has started all 39 games during his career and was a first-team all-conference pick in 2024 and 2025. Bousom played all 13 games last season, tying for the team lead in sacks (4.5) and tackles for lost yardage (8).
Rising senior defensive lineman Kody Harris-Miller, rising senior cornerback Jaydan Mayes, rising senior tight end Parker Poloskey, rising senior punter James Wagenseller and rising senior long snapper Owen Walter are second-team picks. Harris-Miller played just seven games and posted 15 tackles, one season after posting 29 total. Mayes made 13 starts, with 20 of his 35 tackles of the solo variety. Poloskey made 13 starts, making clutch plays throughout. Wagenseller averaged 43 yards on 32 punts, pining foes inside the 20-yard line 13 times. Walter also played 13 games, posting two tackles.
Rising sophomore running back Godspower Nwawuihe and rising senior offensive lineman Paolo Gennarelli were chosen to the third team. Originally a quarterback recruit, Nwawuihe made a successful transition to running back; he had a breakout game in the Fenway Bowl win over Connecticut, posting 171 yards and touchdowns of 43 and 70 yards. Gennarelli started 11 games, helping block a team that rushed for 3,485 yards.
Rising senior quarterback Cale Hellums is a fourth-squad selection. The incumbent signal caller started 10 and appeared in all 13 games last season. He posted 1,223 rushing yards and 18 rushing scores.
Army opens the 2026 season on Sept. 5 when Bryant visits for a noon start – it will be the debut of the new East stands at Michie Stadium.
