This past week, as Marco Noontime Rotary celebrates its 60th anniversary, the club installed a new president at its annual event aboard the Marco Princess. Outgoing president Sue Haviland presented awards to outstanding Rotary members.
“We have a great club,” said Joe Nolan, Noontime Rotary’s new president, to assembled Rotarians. “It’s amazing how much we have accomplished over the years. My job as president will be to continue the successful programs we have established over the past 60 years in this community, and to help grow our club so that we can do even more.”
Rotary’s outgoing president, Sue Havilland, also addressed those in attendance. “It has truly been an honor to be the president of this club over the last two years, particularly as we celebrate our 60th anniversary. The never-ending commitment to our impactful service projects – locally and globally – and fellowship exhibited by the members of the Rotary is second to none. It is said that ‘Rotary happens at the club level,’ and nowhere is that more evident than this club. I encourage anyone seeking a way to make a difference, while enriching their own life. to consider becoming a Rotarian.”
