Vote. Ridgewood team seeks top prize in Mott Million Dollar Challenge

WEST LAFAYETTE — The AI For Youth class of Ridgewood High School has advanced to the finals of the Mott Million Dollar Challenge, a national competition highlighting innovative, student-driven solutions to real-world problems.

The class earned its place among the nation’s top teams with its project, Reading Reimagined, an innovative platform designed to enhance literacy engagement and outcomes. Through their work in the competition, students have already secured $5,250 in winnings, according to a public announcement.

Voting for the finals ends at 4 p.m. June 16. One can watch the pitch video online and vote by giving it a like. The team could win up to $25,000.

The AI class previously won the Ohio state championship in the Presidential AI Challenge and took a trip to Washington D.C. where it presented the project to federal legislators. Students in the class are Kenzie Bice, Keira Schrock, Bridget Kobel, Autumn Joyce, Addison Lahmers, Sofie Paugh and Sophia Bluck.

The Mott Million Dollar Challenge is supported by funding from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and is administered by the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship in collaboration with VentureLab, Young Entrepreneur Institute, the Afterschool Alliance and Collaborative Communications.
