Like many lottery teams, the Golden State Warriors have plenty of solid options to choose from with the No. 11 overall selection in the NBA Draft. However, Warriors insider Anthony Slater may have revealed Golden State’s No. 1 choice.
According to Slater, Brayden Burries of Arizona has generated interest from Golden State’s front office as an off-ball talent who fits their current roster well while also transitioning into a primary scorer after the eventual retirement of Stephen Curry.
Last season with the Wildcats, Burries averaged 16.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals. Considering his perimeter defense and 3-point shooting, the Arizona freshman has been compared to former NBA champion Derrick White. While Burries would be a tremendous pickup for Golden State, many mock drafts expect him to be off the board by the time No. 11 selection rolls around.
