SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket lifts off early Monday from Florida on record-breaking booster flight

A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket soared into the sky early June 8, starting off the work week on Florida’s Space Coast with a rumble.

Liftoff occurred on time at 6:13 a.m. Monday from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission, known as Starlink 10-35, carried the latest batch of Starlink internet satellites to orbit.

The liftoff occurred just 11 minutes before the 6:24 a.m. sunrise, giving off a slight jellyfish as the emerging sunlight illuminated the rocket’s exhaust.

No Brevard County sonic booms were heard, as the Falcon 9’s first stage booster landed on the A Shortfall of Gravitas drone ship in the Atlantic Ocean. It was the 35th flight of this fleet-leading booster − a new record for SpaceX.

When is the next Florida rocket launch?

The next launch from Florida is set for no earlier than 8:27 a.m. Friday, June 12 from Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Expect to see a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launch on another Starlink mission.

If needed, the June 12 launch window extends until 12:27 p.m.
