Ohio high school track and field results, Stark live updates Sunday

COLUMBUS — After a busy first three days, including a long Saturday created by weather delays, the Ohio High School Athletic Association track and field state championship meet wraps ups today.

Renamed the OHSAA Jesse Owens Track and Field Championships ahead of this season is just part of what’s been new this year.

In the first year of the state meet featuring five divisions, and also running over the course of four days for the first time at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium, it’s been quite a meet.

We’ll have full coverage of the final day here as Stark County-area athletes in Division I and II compete in finals throughout Sunday.

Saturday’s result highlights at the OHSAA track state meet

Boys finals in D2 3,200 and D3 110 hurdles

Hoover’s Samuel Baker finishes 17th in the Division II boys 3,200 in 10:02.46. In Division III, Northwest’s Logan Allman is eighth in the boys 110 hurdles in 14.60.

Kylah Meyer wins a state championship, sets state meet record

Louisville’s Kylah Meyer wins the Division II girls 3,200 in a state meet record 10:28.39.

State track meet resumes, Ahsha DPietro wins another state championship

Not long after the day’s second weather delay ended, Perry’s Ahsha DPietro won her second state championship of the day, winning the girls seated 400. She won the seated 100 earlier Saturday.

Some events to resume soon at OHSAA state track

The start time for events still planned for June 6 is set for 8:30 p.m. The seated 400 will be the first event, followed by the Division II 3,200 and the Division III finals.

OHSAA announces changes to the state meet for Division I and II

The OHSAA is making modifications to this year’s state track and field meet due to storms causing two delays today. The remaining Division II running events with the exception of the 3,200 will be postponed until June 7 at 1 p.m. Running events that have not completed preliminaries, starting with the boys 400, will be reseeded as timed finals according to NFHS regulations.

The start time for events still planned for June 6 will be determined later, but the meet will not resume before 7:45 p.m. The Division II 3,200 will be the first event, followed by the remaining seated events and Division III finals. The remaining field events will resume at 8:30 a.m. on June 7.

Weather update: Another storm could hit the state meet today

Columbus is under a severe thunderstorm warning is in effect until 6 p.m.

Division II field event results: Massillon’s Chayce White a state-runner-up

Chayce White of Massillon finished second in the Division II boys long jump with a top mark of 23-4.

Justin Landes of Lake had a top throw of 161-3 to finish ninth in the boys discus.

Division III field events update

Evelyn Helmick of Northwest finished 18th in the girls pole vault, clearing 9-6.

OHSAA track state meet resumes after lengthy weather delay

Action has resumed at in the Division I prelims, with the heats of the boys 200 meters. The meet was delayed more than 2 hours by the weather.

OHSAA issues update on weather delay at state track meet

At 12:43 p.m., OHSAA announced on social media that gates will re-open to the public at 1 p.m. and the meet is tentatively set to resume at 1:30.

The state meet entered a weather delay during the Division I preliminaries late Saturday morning.

Ahsha DiPietro of Perry wins seated 100 state title

Perry senior Ahsha DiPietro won a state title in the seated 100 in 22.04 seconds. It was her first win at the outdoor state meet since 2024 when she won the 100 and 400.

Seated boys 100 finals features 3 Stark athletes

Christopher Good of Perry is the runner-up in the seated boys 100 meters in 17.39. Rennick Darrah of Lake took fourth (22.65) and Will Simons of Jackson was eighth (38.95).

3,200-meter relays open Division I meet

Track events for Day 3 began with the 3,200-meter relay finals in Division I. The Hoover girls took seventh (9:21.17). In the boys race, GlenOak was 16th (8:10.72) and Perry 18th (8:24.99).

St. Thomas Aquinas sprinter finishes 9th in boys 100, 400

In Division V, St. Thomas Aquinas’ Jacarie Corner is ninth in the boys 100 meters in 11.57. Corner is also ninth in the 400 in 50.17.

Tusky Valley teammates place 9th, 11th in girls 800

Tusky Valley’s Sami Ward finishes ninth in the Division IV girls 800 meters in 2:20.93. Teammate Josie Eick ends up 11th in 2:21.51.

West Branch’s Idonika Woods 14th in girls shot put

West Branch’s Idonika Woods is 14th in the Division III girls shot put with a throw of 34-7¼.

Northwest’s Connor Stephens 13th in boys discus

Northwest’s Connor Stephens is 13th in the Division III boys discus with a throw of 149-2.

Malvern’s Parker Bowe is a state runner-up

Malvern’s Parker Bowe is the Division V state runner-up in the boys discus. His top throw was 59-¾.

3 local athletes place in boys seated shot put

Perry’s Christopher Good finishes third in the boys seated shot put with a throw of 20 feet even. Lake’s Rennick Darrah finishes fifth and Jackson’s Will Simons comes in eighth.

Tusky Valley pole vaulter places 12th

Tusky Valley’s Graham Lewis clears 13-0 to finish 12th in the Division IV boys pole vault.

Orrville runner 3rd, Northwest runner 11th in 3,200 meters

Northwest’s Luca Novakovic finishes 11th in the Division III boys 3,200 meters in 9:45.01. Orrville’s Owen Lacy, another one of the PAC-7’s distance stars, comes in third.

Lake Center Christian has state track runner-up

Lake Center Christian’s Gianna Ritchie is the Division V state runner-up in the girls 800 meters. She won the event in 2025.

Fairless track has another state championship

Fairless has a third state championship. Bradlee Keehn wins the Division IV title in the boys 800. Tusky Valley’s Cade Conrad was third and Tuslaw’s Cash Iams was 15th.

Tusky Valley’s Abe McElwee places fourth in the Division IV boys 400.

Brice Fuller wins Fairless its 2nd state title of the meet

Fairless’ Brice Fuller is the Division IV state champion in the boys 1,600. Teammate Andrew Hearn finishes fifth.

Abigail LaPole wins 3rd OHSAA state championship in seated shot put, sets record

Jackson’s Abigail LaPole has won her third straight girls seated shot put state title. Her winning throw was a state-meet record 21-7.5 on her final throw.

Boys D3 3,200 finals features 2 PAC-7 runners

Northwest’s Luca Novakovic runs the Division III boys 3,200 in 9:45.01 and finishes 11th. Orrville’s Owen Lacy, another one of the PAC-7 distance stars, comes in third.

Irelyn Johnson of Marlington takes 3rd in D3 girls 3,200 meters

Marlington’s Irelyn Johnson finishes third and Minerva’s Makenzie Beavers comes in 17th in the Division III girls 3,200. Unfortunately they had to race against three-time champion Sophia Szolosi, the biggest thing to come out of Athens since Joe Burrow.

Division IV boys long jump features Stark competitor

Tuslaw’s Patrick Fox cleared 16-11.75 in the Division IV boys long jump. He finished 17th.

Sandy Valley’s Taliana Tozzi earns All-Ohio honors

In Division IV, Sandy Valley freshman Taliana Tozzi cleared 5-4 in the girls high jump to finish in a tie for third.

Minerva girls reach podium in 3,200 relay

Day 2 of the OHSAA State Track and Field Championships is underway. In the Division III girls 3,200 relay, Minerva finished sixth and Marlington came in 15th.

Sara Whitlach finishes 12th and Katie Armstrong ties for 14th for Tusky Valley in the Division IV girls pole vault. That wraps up today’s finals for area athletes.

Fairless’ Brice Fuller makes podium in 3,200

Fairless’ Brice Fuller comes in fifth in the Division IV boys 3,200 meters. He anchored the Falcons’ state championship 3,200 relay earlier this afternoon.

Tuslaw’s Adriana Pudloski finishes 16th in the Division IV girls 3,200. Tusky Valley’s Natalie Stokes is 17th.

Malvern’s Parker Bowe reaches podium in discus

In Division V, Malvern’s Parker Bowe finishes fourth in the discus with a top throw of 174-4.

Fairless wins Stark County its first OHSAA track state championship of 2026

It didn’t take long for Stark County to win title No. 1 of 2026. And it’s no surprise that it comes from Fairless.

The quartet of Bradlee Keehn, Nolan Kutz, Andrew Hearn and Brice Fuller lead the Falcons to a win in the Division IV 3,200-meter relay. They finished in 7:51.08 to win the program’s first relay state title.
