Graduations are winding down in the North State.
In the Redding area, University Preparatory School kicked off the season with its commencement ceremony on May 29. Foothill, Central Valley, Anderson Union and West Valley high schools held their graduations on June 4, and Shasta and Enterprise high schools celebrated the Class of 2026 in evening ceremonies on June 5.
There was laughter and joy, hugs everywhere and a sense of accomplishment and hope for the future as the recent graduates moves on to either college, technical schools and apprenticeships or jobs.
The Record Searchlight was present at several of the graduations and captured some of those proud moments between friends, faculty and families.
