Texas vs Oregon baseball live updates

Two more for Texas

Adrian Rodriguez got his fourth RBI of the game with a sac fly to score Anthony Pack Jr. Then Ethan Mendoza hit a bomb out of the park (literally) to score Temo Becerra and himself.

Harrison slams door

In for Burns, Texas relief pitcher Luke Harrison struck out Burke-Lee Mabeus to end the Ducks rally at two runs. Oregon stranded three more runners, 14 through six innings.

Back to back Burns walks

Burns has walked both runners he has faced, both scored a run. After walking Brayden Jaksa to score Jack Brooks, Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle has seen enough and is going back to the bullpen.

Burns walks in run

Oregon is on the board after a bases loaded walk from Thomas Burns to Drew Smith. Maddox Molony scored.

Volantis’ night is over

After loading the bases with one out, Texas coach Jim Schlossnagle has pulled starter Dylan Volantis. Volantis pitched high stress innings on a humid night. But he left with a shutout in place, despite not having his best stuff. Thomas Burns is now on the mound for UT.

HBP equals another run

Oregon pitcher Leo Uelmen hit Dariyan Pendergrass with a pitch with the bases loaded. Rodriguez scored the seventh Texas run.

Texas tacks on

After a Temo Becerra double, Adrian Rodriguez drove in the shortstop with a single to the left center gap. Rodriquez has three RBIs on the evening.

Oregon strands two more

Another inning where Volantis allowed two base runners and another inning where the UT ace got out of it with a strikeout. This time it was Naulivou Lauaki who went down swinging.

Ducks change pitchers, then balks

After Oregon starter Cal Scolari loaded the bases, Ducks coach Mark Wasikowski went to freshman Jonah Barkoff. The nervous looking lefty immediately balked in a run when his cleats got stuck in the mound at Disch-Falk Field. He then got Carson Tinney to ground out to get out of the inning.

Escape Artist

In an almost identical inning to the third inning, the Ducks got two runners on base with one out and Dylan Volantis struck out Jax Gimenez and got Angel Laya to ground out to end the inning. As good as Volantis has been, his pitch count is high for a warm evening in Austin.

Becerra gets picked off, earful

After getting hit by a Cal Scolari pitch, Temo Becerra got picked off first. He was originally called safe, but after an Oregon challenge, he was called out. When he got back into the dugout, he heard it from Longhorns coach Jim Schlossnagle.

Volantis works out of trouble

Texas starter Dylan Volantis’ control left him to start the third inning and loaded the bases. But after a meeting at the mound, the big lefty got a strikeout of Braden Jaksa and a ground out from Burke-Lee Mabeus to hold onto the shutout.

Speed leads to UT run

Speedy center fielder Quick Dariyan Pendergrass turned a walk into a run with steals of both second and third. He then scored on a sacrifice fly by Aiden Robbins.

Borba Bomb

With one out in the bottom of the second inning, Texas third baseman Casey Borba blasted a home run to right center field.

Ducks run into an out

After a double down the right field line by Naulivou Lauaki, Maddox Molony hit a shot to Texas pitcher Dylan Volantis who turned and got Lauaki in no-man’s land between second and third and was out after a rundown.

Rodriguez to the Wall

With two on and two out, Texas shortstop Adrian Rodriguez shot a double through the left field gap that went all the way to the wall. The Ducks were playing the outfield very shallow on the infielder. Both runs scored to give Texas an early first inning lead.

Ducks on the Pond

Texas ace Dylan Volantis got into a bit of a jam in the first. The Ducks got runners at the corners but couldn’t cash in against the UT pitcher.
