Michigan football had the top recruiting class in the Big Ten for all of a day or two, but with Maxwell Miles, the Las Vegas (Nev.) Centennial three-star safety, flipping to Minnesota, the Wolverines fell back down the rankings. However, it didn’t even take a full week for the maize and blue to rise back up to 16 commits in the class, and with that, they regained the Big Ten lead.
With 2027 Katy (Tx.) Tompkins four-star cornerback Blake Jenkins — the No. 280 player in the 247Sports Composite — having committed on Thursday night, the Wolverines moved back up to the top spot in the Big Ten. Though, unlike before, when they were No. 6 overall, they’re now No. 7 nationally. Even still, they’re ahead of everyone else in the Big Ten according to the 247Sports Composite team rankings.
Here is where each team in the Big Ten currently stands:
Michigan is also ranked No. 10 in the Rivals team rankings, although it is behind No. 7 Ohio State, No. 8 USC, and No. 9 Oregon there. And the 247Sports proprietary rankings have the Wolverines at 14th overall, behind No. 7 Penn State, No. 8 UCLA, No. 10 USC, No. 11 Ohio State, No. 12 Oregon, and No. 13 Minnesota.
