Big 12 school beats out Spartans for Georgia cornerback prospect

A Spartans target has committed elsewhere following his official visit to that school last weekend.

George Murray III announced his commitment to Kansas State earlier this week following his official visit with the Wildcats last weekend. Murray is a cornerback prospect from Winder, Ga. and was set to take an official visit to Michigan State this upcoming weekend.

Murray is currently listed as an unranked and unrated cornerback prospect in the 2027 class. He measures out at 5-foot-11 and 175 pounds, and plays for Apalachee High.

Michigan State was the first power four school to extend an offer to Murray, but he had picked some steam after that with Kansas State and Northwestern also offering him. He also held offers from Arkansas State, East Carolina, Troy, Army, Charlotte, Eastern Michigan, Jacksonville State, Old Dominion, Alabama State, Austin Peay, Mercer and Samford.
