The transfer portal officially opened for college baseball on June 1, and several FSU players have already announced that they will be entering. The Seminoles earned a top 10 national seed in the NCAA Tournament, but they came up short of their goals and lost to St. John’s twice in the Tallahassee Regional.
While they accomplished some impressive things, the offense struggled to put together consistent at-bats, especially once Myles Bailey went down. This offseason will give Link Jarrett the opportunity to add some needed power and plate discipline to the lineup, something he has done before.
The pitching staff will likely need some work as well. Ace Wes Mendes will be an early pick in the 2027 MLB Draft, and Trey Beard and Bryson Moore are both draft eligible and could decide to enter with as much leverage as possible. While they have several internal replacement options, they have shown a tendency to add proven starting pitchers through the transfer portal.
We’ll track everything that happens in the transfer portal this offseason right here.
Kelvyn Paulino Jr., INF
Kelvyn Paulino Jr. spent just one season at FSU, mostly serving as a designated hitter and hitting .275 with one home run, six doubles, two triples, and 21 RBI. He was one of the top players in the 2025 recruiting class, but was unable to put it together in his only season in Tallahassee.
Noash Sheffield, INF
Noah Sheffield spent two seasons in Tallahassee, starting the 2026 season in the linup before falling out of it. He spent time at designated hitter, right field, second base, and left field, and ended the year hitting .250 with four home runs, nine doubles, 29 RBI, and 26 runs scored.
Chase Williams, OF
Chase Williams spent two years at FSU, making some great plays and costly mistakes. He has excellent speed, which allows him to be a threat on the bases, but he also runs into too many outs. He provided great defense in left field and will have one season of eligibility at his next stop.
Manny Lantigua, P
Manny Lantigua appeared in six games as a freshman for the Seminoles before announcing he would enter the portal before the season was even over. The righty will have three seasons of eligibility at his next school.
