Chris Godwin feels a different energy around the Bucs in OTAs

The Bucs in 2026 are coming into their OTA sessions with a fresh mindset and a new team built around them. There are some playmakers who were added through free agency and the NFL Draft, but also franchise leaders like Lavonte David and Mike Evans are no longer on the team.

All of this is leading to some positive news coming from the mouth of Chris Godwin to every Bucs fan’s heart: This team is different. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the veteran wide receiver said the team has a “different energy” already in OTAs.

Godwin shared, “It’s just like, it’s a different energy. Got a bunch of guys that are coming in ready to, improve, like, improve their values. . .it’s just, it’s been fun.”

This team will need to have a bounce back in 2026 or else more changes are going to be on the horizon. However, for Godwin to pick up on the energy from the team as early as an OTA practice is a good sign for the team in the upcoming season.
