Rams waive undrafted rookie DT Jalen Logan-Redding

With all eyes on Myles Garrett (and potentially an Aaron Donald return), the Los Angeles Rams made another roster move on Tuesday. According to the transaction wire, the Rams waived undrafted rookie defensive lineman Jalen Logan-Redding.

Fans are obviously speculating that this means the Rams are opening up a roster spot for Donald to come back, but it’s completely unrelated. Teams can carry up to 90 players on the offseason roster and they had just 87, including Garrett and Logan-Redding.

With Logan-Redding gone now, the Rams only have 86 players on their roster. There was room for Donald before and there’s room after this move, too. That does not mean he’s coming out of retirement, though.

Logan-Redding was signed by the Rams after the draft, being one of their 18 undrafted rookies. He spent six seasons at Minnesota, playing 58 games and recording 10.5 tackles for a loss to go with four sacks.

It’s unclear the reason the Rams are moving on from him, but he’ll try to catch on with another team.
