Florida State had around 40 recruits on campus over the weekend for their Seminole Showcase. 2027 four-star wide receiver Ethan Kimmie, who they offered on May 15, made his way to the event, which was his first trip to see the program.
When it comes to recruiting, first impressions matter a lot. In that respect, FSU did exactly what they were supposed to do as Kimmie raved about his time with the program on his multi-day visit.
“Had a great time yesterday @FSUFootball Thank you to @Coach_Norvell , @Fertitta_Gabe and Florida State Football Staff for a great visit!,” Kimmie said on social media.
The 6-foot-3, 195-pounder plays not only receiver but safety as well. As a junior, Kimmie played at University Lab High School in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He transferred to Zachary High School before his senior year, which is in Zachary, Louisiana.
Kimmie is listed as the No. 310 player nationally and the No. 40 wide receiver per 247Sports composite rankings. In the state of Louisiana, he’s the No. 13 prospect.
The Seminoles have been consistent in their communication with Kimmie since they have offered him, and it’s made them stand out from other schools.
“For the past three weeks, they’ve been contacting me pretty heavily,” Kimmie told Noles247. “Mostly coach Gabriel.”
With this type of momentum after having Kimmie on campus for the first time, Florida State needs to lock in an official visit with him as soon as possible.
